Morning – Royal Palace & Riverside (Golden Hour Photo Walk)

  • 6:00 AM – Meet in front of the Royal Palace, a famous landmark in Phnom Penh
  • 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM – Capture the soft golden light of sunrise. Watch people exercising, feeding pigeons, and starting their day along the riverside. This is a perfect time to take beautiful, peaceful photos.
  • 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM – Take photos of the outside of the Royal Palace. Its bright golden roofs and clean white walls look great in the morning sun. You’ll also capture people walking by, monks collecting alms, and the busy daily life around this iconic place.

Afternoon – Local Street Life & Market Scenes

  • 2:30 PM – Start the afternoon session at Derng Haem Street, near the Big Market
  • 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM – Walk through small side streets. Take close-up shots of local vendors, street food, motorbikes, and children playing. This area is full of life and color.
  • 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM – Continue exploring the area around the Central Market (Psar Thmei). Capture the hustle and bustle of shoppers, sellers, and tuk-tuks. This is a great chance to practice people photography and street storytelling.

Morning – Visit Silk Island (Koh Dach) and Photograph Daily Life

  • 5:30 AM – Meet at Salang Prek Leap Ferry Dock
  • 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM – Take a boat across the Mekong River to Koh Dach Island. This island is calm and green. You’ll photograph locals working with their hands — raising silkworms, spinning thread, and making silk in the early morning light. It’s a special view into Cambodian village life.

Afternoon – Weaving Traditions at Koh Oknha Tey

  • 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM – Visit nearby Koh Oknha Tey, known for traditional Khmer weaving. Here, you will see locals, mostly women, weaving colorful kroma (scarves) and Hol Phamuong (traditional skirts) using wooden looms. You’ll photograph their tools, their hands at work, and their proud faces as they continue a centuries-old tradition.
