Our adventure begins at 8:30 AM as we cycle south from Kratie on the Old River Road toward Te River. We’ll pass through a Vietnamese village and visit Wat Rokakandal, home to a unique 400-year-old wood carving, perfect for a photo. As we wait for the ferry, enjoy a view of the floating village on the Mekong.
Once on the west bank, we’ll explore tobacco buildings, seasonal crops, and a local Wat. Learn about palm sugar production during the season and relax near rice paddies—ideal for photography. If you're a sweet tooth, you may get a chance to try fresh sugar cane juice.
Enjoy a local family’s home for lunch, and then continue cycling through rural villages where the children greet us with big smiles and the cheerful "HELLO! HELLO!" Along the way, we’ll discover local production of rice whiskey and rice noodles, stop for refreshing drinks, and take a swim at a hidden Mekong beach surrounded by green islands (available January-May).
In the evening, we’ll be welcomed into a local family’s home for an overnight stay on the Mekong River. Experience true rural Cambodian life, enjoy a traditional wood-fired home-cooked meal, and sleep under a mosquito net in a traditional Cambodian home. You’ll also get the chance to take a Khmer-style bucket shower.
