8:30 AM – Pick-up from your hotel in Sen Monorom and a 20-minute scenic drive to the Elephant Sanctuary Forest.
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM – Begin with a short jungle hike into the valley. Our guide will introduce you to the Bunong Elephant Project’s mission, the significance of elephant conservation, and Mondulkiri’s unique ecosystem.
Meet & greet the elephants – Observe these gentle giants as they roam freely.
Hand-feed them their favorite treats like bananas and bamboo.
Follow them through the jungle as they forage, scratch against trees, and communicate with each other.
Take incredible photos of elephants in their natural habitat, learning about their behaviors and diet.
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM – Hike to the visitor hut by the O’tey River, where a traditional Khmer lunch awaits.
Relax in hammocks under the forest canopy.
Enjoy the tranquil sounds of nature and watch for wildlife sightings (birds, butterflies, and more).
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM – River time with the elephants!
Walk back into the jungle and head to the natural river pool.
Watch the elephants bathe, splash, and coat themselves in mud—a vital part of their skin care routine.
If you wish, join them in the water for an up-close experience (get ready to get messy!).
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM – Visit Putang Village, home to the Bunong indigenous people.
Learn about their traditional lifestyle, unique houses, and sacred beliefs.
Engage with local villagers and hear stories about their connection with elephants.
4:00 PM – Return to Sen Monorom.
